The annual Dubai Investments Green Run is a community event that promotes environmental sustainability and encourages everyone to make greener, smarter choices whether in the home, transiting, at work or school. It’s an inclusive 3 KM and 5 KM run for the whole community, including corporate teams, families, students, environment advocates and running enthusiasts, all for fun and the environment.
WHY DUBAI INVESTMENTS GREEN RUN IS GREEN
Putting on a mass-participation event can put a strain on the environment, however, Dubai Investments Green Run aims to limit its environmental impact by adopting practices that educate the community and lessens the burden on the planet. Dubai Investments Green Run offers a different experience that supports a greener race.
THESE ARE SOME OF THE PRACTICES WE HAVE ADOPTED TO HELP LIMIT THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
Promoting paperless communications
By digitizing the registration forms, race manuals, certificates and other communications we are increasing efficiency whilst dramatically reducing paper waste.

Sustainable T-shirts
All participants receive T-shirts made from recycled materials.
Water
Participants are encouraged to bring your own reusable/refillable water bottles with water available on the route and in the village. Water from individual plastic bottles is not be available during the event. Eco-friendly paper cups are provided for those people who forget their personal use bottles.
Encourage collecting for recycling
There are recycling opportunities on site during the event. Participants are encouraged to bring items that can be recycled, including plastics, clothing, shoes and electronics, as there is a recycling bus to process items.
Shared transportation
We encourage participants to ‘share a ride’ to limit the number of vehicles coming to the event.
Eco-friendly run signs and run arch
Dubai Investments Green Run uses recycled and sustainable materials for the run logistics.
Eradicating discarded water cups and plastic bottles
Runners bring their own re- usable, refillable water bottle that can be filled at the water stations.
The Green Run Village
As part of the event, there is a Green Run Village – with family style environmentally friendly activities, entertainment and refreshments. Vendors offer visitors the opportunity to browse and buy from displays and eco-friendly exhibits, and organizations committed to a greener future showcase recycling and sustainable solutions for a greener way of life.
Re use - Re cycle - Reduce
There are recycling bins at the start/ finish areas, along the route and in the Green Run Village.
Rewarding the environmentally friendly schools and organizations
Dubai Investments Green Run offers awards in recognition of participants and vendors who contribute to the event sustainability as well as trophies for the organization and school with the best ‘Green Message’.
